Covington, GA – Five People Killed, One Injured in Head-On Collision
Covington, Georgia (April 8, 2023) – A van collided with a pickup truck on a Georgia highway, killing five people and injuring one. The accident occurred on State Route 142 in Covington, east of Atlanta, on Saturday. According to a Sargent with the Newton County Sheriff’s Department, all five of those killed were in the van. According to sheriff’s investigators, the pickup driver was hospitalized in critical condition. Investigators stated that rain was falling at the time of the accident, but they had not determined if the weather was a factor in the crash. A man who lives near the scene of the accident said he heard the crash and ran out to help. There wasn’t an inch of that van that wasn’t on fire. ” the mad said. “The thud I heard was like there was no brakes. It wasn’t a screech, it was a direct hit.” According to the man, he grabbed a kitchen fire extinguisher, but the fire was too large. Preliminary investigations found that the truck left its lane prior to the collision. Deputies would not say whether the pickup driver would face charges. The names of those killed or injured were not immediately released by authorities. I met with Harry Brown personally and he sat with me for 20 minutes at our initial consultation to explain everything. He even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I met with him several more times after that and was kept informed about my case throughout. I highly recommend Harry Brown as an attorney.

Motorcycle Accidents in GeorgiaMotorcycle accidents are among the deadliest and most dangerous. Many motorcycle accident victims suffer head injuries, neck injuries, broken bones, need surgery, or die as a result of the accident. Seat belts, airbags, and the four walls that surround them protect the people inside a regular car. In addition, vehicles have “crumple zones” that absorb some of the impact of an accident. As a result, people in car accidents are less likely to be injured than motorcycle riders. The following are all possible outcomes in the event of a motorcycle collision:
This is why a motorcycle accident is every rider’s worst nightmare. If you are involved in a motorcycle accident, you should seek legal counsel from a Acworth Motorcycle Accident Attorney as soon as possible. Your knowledgeable attorney will assist you in obtaining compensation for the following:

Pedestrian Accidents in GeorgiaAccidents involving pedestrians are extremely dangerous. They are typically more severe than other accidents because a car can harm an unprotected person severely even at a slow speed. The likelihood of pedestrian fatalities increases as a result. Almost all accidents involving pedestrians result in injuries, and many of them result in wrongful deaths. Pedestrian accidents are investigated and handled in the same way that car accidents are. Accident victims and their families are legally entitled to seek monetary compensation for any losses incurred as a result of the accident. Despite having the right of way, pedestrians are occasionally held liable for accidents. Pedestrians who cross the street illegally, unexpectedly, and without warning may be partially or entirely to blame, even if they suffer severe injuries as a result of the collision. If the pedestrian caused the collision, the driver of the car may be entitled to compensation for accident-related expenses such as car repair costs. When a vehicle hits a pedestrian, the driver is almost always found to be at least partially at fault. This is due to the fact that drivers are responsible for keeping an eye out for pedestrians. Lake City, Georgia (March 22, 2023) – On Wednesday, a woman was killed in what appears to be a freak accident at a business that stores vehicles that have been in accidents or have been repossessed. According to the Lake City Police Department, a woman went to Insurance Auto Auction on Rex Road to retrieve some personal items from a repossessed car. The woman was going through the items in front of a gate when a forklift carrying a car came through and ran her over. According to police, the woman was killed “pretty much instantly.” Because of the forklift’s size, the operator was unaware he had hit the woman until he returned across the street after unloading the car. At this time, it is unknown whether he blew his horn as is customary before driving through the gate or if he did and the woman ignored it. The police department does not anticipate filing any criminal charges at this time because no evidence of intent or criminal negligence was discovered. Paulding County, Georgia (March 21, 2023) – Over the weekend, an Atlanta Police Department lieutenant was arrested for DUI after a single-vehicle crash near Macland Road and Mount Tabor Church Road in Paulding County. According to a press release, a Georgia State Patrol trooper determined that a black Nissan Xterra was traveling east on Macland Road around midnight on March 19 when it left the road and struck a stop sign and a Paulding County Department of Transportation sign. While speaking with the driver, the trooper allegedly detected alcohol on the driver’s breath. The driver admitted to drinking wine about 4 hours before the crash. Inside the vehicle, the trooper noticed Atlanta Police Department gear and an open can of Modelo beer. The driver was taken to Paulding WellStar Hospital for medical treatment. The driver stated that he was an APD officer while at the hospital. His eyes were bloodshot and watery, and his speech was slurred, according to the trooper. The trooper attempted the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test four times but the driver was unable to follow directions. The driver gave a breath sample for testing, which revealed that he had consumed alcohol, and was read the implied consent notice for a blood test. He agreed to the blood test, but when the trooper went to his car to get a blood draw kit, he fled into the nearby woods. The trooper asked the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office and Cobb County’s K-9 unit for assistance in locating the police lieutenant. They found him at a RaceTrac gas station near the hospital at 5:33 a.m. He was arrested and taken to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office to be booked into their jail. When APD commanders learned of the arrest, they launched an internal investigation and placed him on “non-enforcement status.” I met with Harry Brown personally and he sat with me for 20 minutes at our initial consultation to explain everything. He even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I met with him several more times after that and was kept informed about my case throughout. I highly recommend Harry Brown as an attorney.

Single Vehicle Accidents in GeorgiaSingle-vehicle accidents occur when only one vehicle and one driver are involved. In most cases, a single-car accident occurs when the vehicle collides with another object or is pushed off the road. Even if no other vehicles were involved in the collision, a single-car accident can be extremely dangerous and even fatal. Single-vehicle collisions raise a number of legal concerns. Even when only one vehicle is involved in an accident, it can sometimes be difficult to determine who was at fault. There is a chance that the accident was caused by someone else’s carelessness. Consider the following: -Poor road conditions can make it difficult for drivers to keep control of their vehicles, increasing the likelihood of a collision. Defects include potholes, seams, and construction debris left on the road. If you were involved in an accident caused by poor road conditions, the person or organization responsible for the problem could face legal consequences. -Even if another driver’s car did not collide with yours, they could be held responsible for the accident. If the other driver is negligent and causes your vehicle to go off the road, they may be held liable for any damages or injuries you sustain. -When driving a car, mechanical issues can cause a variety of problems. When a car’s brakes, steering columns, tires, wipers, and airbags fail to function properly, serious injuries can occur. These are just a few of the numerous scenarios that can result in an accident involving a single vehicle in which the driver is not at fault. The Brown Firm’s knowledgeable and experienced Car Accident Attorneys will conduct a thorough investigation into all evidence and details pertaining to your accident. If you were in a car accident and believe someone else was at fault, the first thing you should do is contact an experienced Personal Injury Lawyer for legal council. He even called after my surgery to see how I was doing. I met with him several more times after that and was kept informed about my case throughout. I highly recommend Harry Brown as an attorney.

Cowetta County, Georgia (March 15, 2023) – A tow truck driver was killed on the job Wednesday morning on the northbound side of Interstate 85 at mile marker 40 in Coweta County, according to authorities. According to Georgia State Troopers, the 49-year-old tow truck driver was cleaning up a crash with emergency crews around 7 a.m. Wednesday. Investigators believe a driver going too fast for the conditions swerved to avoid fire trucks and rolled over, striking the tow truck driver. A deputy was also hurt, but he is expected to recover. Authorities arrested the 31-year-old man who struck and killed the tow truck driver. The fatal collision occurred just feet away from an overhead sign that reads, ‘State Law: Move over or slow down for stopped emergency vehicles.’ Those in the wrecker business say the law is there to prevent crashes like this. The 31-year-old is facing multiple charges including vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, and a violation of the move-over law. Although every state has “Move-Over” laws, AAA reports that each year, approximately 24 emergency responders, including tow truck drivers, are struck and killed across the country.
